Curb Appeal is Impacted by More than the Lawn

slideshow-2When talking about curb appeal, many real estate agents will be focused on how the property itself looks from the street. Curb appeal is basically how a home and its surrounding environment is presented to those walking along the sidewalk or in front of it along the street or even pulling into the driveway.

Curb appeal is incredibly important for a variety of reasons. Not only can this have a direct impact on your ability to sell your Toronto area home, if that’s what you plan on doing soon, but it can also inspire more offers, which can increase the ultimate sale price.

Many people spend a significant amount of money improving the lawn, adding or repairing walkways, stone walls, and improving the landscaping, but the windows and doors of the house often also make a significant impact on the overall curb appeal of it.

When a person sees brand new windows and a gorgeous front door that greets them, their attention is immediately drawn to the house itself. While it’s still great to have a nice, green lawn and some decent shrubbery, those extra factors won’t be as significant when you have beautiful windows and doors.

If you are replacing basic double hung windows in your dining room that face the road or the driveway, you might want to consider choosing a gorgeous bay or bow window instead. A bay window would allow you to not only create the illusion of more space in that dining room, but it can also provide you an opportunity to place plants and other simple mementos along the shelf that can be attractive to people outside.

When you invest in quality replacement windows and entry doors, even if you’re planning to sell your home in the near future, it’s going to drastically improve the curb appeal of your house. It makes it that much more enjoyable to return home after a long day at work.
