Window Security

Platinum exclusively offers Enerview windows, manufactured in Canada and engineered to meet the highest industry standards for Canadian homes and climates.

One of the standout features of Enerview windows is their SecurePlus Security Glass system, designed to provide enhanced protection, comfort, and peace of mind.

How Is SecurePlus Security Glass Made?

Enerview SecurePlus Security Glass provides industry-leading protection across its product lines by helping resist forced entry attempts. When impacted, the glass may crack, but the shards remain bonded to a durable laminate interlayer, making penetration significantly more difficult.

Unlike aftermarket security films that are applied to existing glass after installation, SecurePlus Security Glass is engineered with security in mind from the start.

The security laminate is permanently sealed between the glass panes and integrated within the window unit itself. Because the laminate is secured within the insulated glass assembly and retained by the window frame, it creates a continuous protective barrier that is far more resistant to being breached or pushed through during an attempted break-in.

Enerview Security Glass vs. Aftermarket Security Films

Traditional security films are typically applied to the interior or exterior surface of existing glass after manufacturing. While these products can help hold broken glass together and provide an added level of protection compared to untreated glass, they have inherent limitations.

Because aftermarket films are attached only to the glass surface and are not integrated into the insulated glass unit or secured within the window frame, they can be more vulnerable to being pushed or pulled through once the glass has been broken.

Enerview SecurePlus Security Glass is different. Its laminated construction is built directly into the window unit, allowing it to remain securely anchored within the frame and continue acting as a protective barrier even after the glass has been damaged.

Benefits of Enerview Security Glass:

Break-In Protection

SecurePlus Security Glass is specifically designed to help delay and deter forced-entry attempts. The laminated interlayer holds broken glass together after impact, making it significantly more difficult to create an opening large enough to gain access.

By requiring more time, effort, and repeated impact to breach, SecurePlus can help discourage intruders and provide valuable additional time for occupants to react or for security systems to respond.

Sound Dampening

In addition to enhanced security, SecurePlus Security Glass provides improved acoustic performance. The laminated interlayer helps reduce the transmission of outside noise, creating a quieter and more comfortable indoor environment by minimizing traffic, construction, and other environmental sounds.

In many applications, SecurePlus Security Glass can provide superior sound reduction compared to standard triple-pane glass units, making it an excellent choice for homes located near busy roads, urban areas, schools, airports, or other high-noise environments.

Protection from UV Rays

SecurePlus Security Glass also delivers excellent UV protection and energy efficiency. It blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays while maintaining advanced Low-E thermal performance, helping protect interior furnishings from fading while contributing to year-round comfort and energy savings.
